Community Forest Corporation Completes 1 Year of Operations

The Vermillion Forks Community Forest Corporation (VFCFC) completed a full year of operations in 2011. The corporation, a partnership between the Town of Princeton, Regional District Okanagan Similkameen and the Upper Similkameen Indian Band, have just completed a full year of operations having been granted a license by the Provincial Government in 2010.

Highlights of activities for the VFCFC in 2011 included:

Adoption of a forestry operation management agreement with Weyerhaeuser Canada.
Adoption of corporate governance, managment and operating policies.
Adoption of a 2011 forestry operating plan.
Harvesting approximately 22,000 m³ of saw and post and rail logs generating gross revenues of $900,000.
